ISUZU CAR HISTORY

So far, trucks and sport utility vehicles of Isuzu SUV is all what you will see when they come to the Isuzu dealer in the country; just a few years since a car Isuzu's first child. In recent years, Isuzu has gone through hard times; the lack of capital for investment in new products and market research company was forced to rely largely on the cooperation with GM.Both vehicles in its lineup are derived from GM products.
Isuzu, which means "50 bells" (50 bells) is similar to the name of a river that flows through the province with an ancient Shinto shrines in Japan. The origin of the company since 1916, the Engineering Company of Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and first decided to expand his business into automobile production. Company technical cooperation with Wolseley Motor Company of England in 1918. The first launch of the company for the A9 car, soon after trucks first born named CP. By 1949, the company name was changed to Isuzu and more concise brief.
In the postwar years, the production of Isuzu trucks boomed. The company's vehicles play an important role in efforts to rebuild the country of Japan, and is used to transport clothes, food and other essential items. In 1953, Isuzu launched the Hillman Minx passenger car models, the product of the association with Rootes, a UK business.
The 1960s also saw the birth of the passenger car as Florian, the Bellett and the 117 Coupe, as well as trucks like the WASP. In 1971, Isuzu began collaborating with General Motors. The car Gemini, was born two years later, the first Isuzu is produced from this collaboration.
Until the 1980s, Isuzu had landed on American shores. Pup is the first car sold in the U.S. market. Trooper, a sport utility vehicle SUV has both type 2 door and 4-door was introduced in 1983 and quickly became popular in this new market segment. The company started a joint venture with Subaru in 1987, this venture has resulted in two cars and Isuzu Pickup Isuzu Rodeo. Less popular than this truck is a car as I-Mark sedan obsolete sports coupe and a spacious Impulse, Italian-designed.
Sales of the company's relatively high in the 1990s, thanks in part to remarkable success of the vehicle at the time Trooper that has grown both in size and luxury.Trooper car is one of the model responsible for the popularity of the category scale SUV during that decade. In 1999, GM upped stake in Isuzu to understand the role of the company's shareholders.
But this new century also brought bad news. The best-selling cars such as Rodeo and Trooper were outclassed by newer vehicles, more youthful and its sales have plummeted. Isuzu cars of today are only two vehicles - trucks and SUVs, both of which are based on GM products.
